sMy first time to Mexico, and I wish I would tell you I had a blast...The real report is that Mexico was OK. People say you love it or hate it. I won't say that I hated it but I am not in a rush to go back LOL.  Lets get the bad out the way first... The resort was a "bait and switch" situation! I was not happy...as a travel planner you go to new places in hopes you can refer it to your clients...There is always some risk and you hope for the best. This was a situation which left a lot to be desired. So, referring my clients was a BIG FAT NO!
               !!!!!!!!!!!!!!HOWEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This was a girls getaway! My girls and I made the best of a much need vacation. We ate, laughed, rested, we drank, ate some more, stayed in the pool, slept, ate, drank - repeat! The tan lines were real. No one thought to bring sunscreen. Yup...We left Mexico BROWN, RED and PEELING from Sunburn LOL. We laughed about the fact no one brought sunscreen. Which could be attributed to the fact the majority of us did not check a bag (we carry-on).  Let's just say, it was a lessoned learned and a painful reminder that all bodies need sunscreen, YIKES!

The repost was near the beach, not beach front. It crawling with ugly seaweed making it impossible to get in the water...You already know I was not fighting seaweed on vacation...LOL. So we sat enjoyed the beautiful breezed, had a much needed beach nap and finished our beach day with a local fish that was so good I forgot about the seaweed...!

Our Room was comfortable and roomie...(I forgot to take pictures, but I was blown when the beach was not pictured outside my balcony as advertised LOL).  The resort was all inclusive beach front. The beachfront description I'm use to is not the same standard in Mexico...LOL. They offered a main dinning hall which served three meals daily all you can eat. Breakfast was always clutch - they served Tequila shots and mimosas until you said stop...then they would come back just in case you were just joking. Let's just say we all enjoyed breakfast. Outside of the main dining hall there were speciality options for meals... we enjoyed all of them. The best restaurant was the steak house - the meat melted in your mouth.  However, the Mexican restaurant next door had the best drinks on the entire resort and it was free flowing. #Winning

We ventured into Mexico for a day of exploring and shopping. I forgot the name of the street, however, it was really cool. The entire street was lined with local vendors, artisans & street food. I am not your average female shopper, my goal was to purchase gifts. I am super cheap...I haggle prices...judge ya mama..LOL. The natives were hospitable until you told them NO THANK YOU, LOL.  There were a few items I wish I would have purchased, but the reality was I took $100 in cash on purpose & there was NO WAY I was going to swipe my credit card. So the leather handbag and gun holder for my dad was a NO! Despite trying to find the best deals, we were able to pick up great items and the experience was wonderful.
Mexico overall was a nice experience. We met some awesome people from all over the world.
Traveling with my girls is always a plus. A lot of people say they have negative experiences with group travel, however, when you travel with travelers, there is always a great time to be had.

A few tips when traveling with a group:
1. Enjoy Yourself.
2. Make sure your needs are met. Do what you need to do for you. Just because you are with a group doesn't mean you can't DO YOU away from the group.
3. Don't be afraid to break away from the group.
4. Get your private time when needed.
5. Have a few drinks
6. Be open to traveling with people you don't know.

Two of my girls met in Mexico - they hit it off and spent most of the week together. They wanted to do excursions - so they did, while the rest of us went shopping and stayed in the pool. They got their needs met and we were cool in the pool. So if you have ever wanted to take a girls trip, do it. It's a great way to network and meet new associates who will become friends.

Hope to see you on our next getaway! For details and first dibs on getaways sign up for  travel tip and trips.

Until then,
Happy and safe travels - Muah, Kay
